Dignity and Respect for Individuality
About
Eversleigh Hospital is a 35 bed hospital providing long-term and respite care. We also manage three licenced one-bedroom apartments serviced by our carers and housekeeping staff.
Each individual room has a hand basin, heater, wardrobe, bed and over bed table. The bathroom is a shower and toilet, just along the corridor. There are commode chairs for rooms if required. The rooms are to be individualised with own furnishings, pictures and bed spreads. Each room opens onto a veranda where potted plants can be grown and residents can sit outside.
All meals are cooked on site, daily baking for morning and afternoon tea. Special diet requirements are also catered for. We are responsible for providing all personal and nursing care including medical services. We have highly skilled 24-hour registered nurses on site and we have access to a 24-hour doctor. The doctor visits the facility weekly or more often as required and the registered nurse ensures residents are seen as their health status requires. All medications are provided by the facility pharmacy.
There is access to share the activities program and a free fortnightly bus trip. There is a library on site or a visit to the Devonport library can be arranged. We have regular residents' meetings and an independent residents advocate is available for support when required. The hairdresser and podiatrist visits the hospital regularly.
Waitemata Health require the Gerontology Team to complete and assessment before admittance to the facility. We would be happy to provide all the information and support you through this assessment.
Please feel welcome to visit our facility and meet with the Facility Manager, Sharon Hansen (RN).
